The Opening Ceremony was carried out directly by the Coordinator of the Social Statistics Function of the BPS Siak Regency, Nelli Yuliarsi (as a Regional Instructor) and also accompanied by the Andromeda Prima Regional Instructor Satya Winarso followed by Enumeration Officers and Supervision Officers for the March 2022 National Socio-Economic Survey.
The National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) is one of the most important sources of household socioeconomic data in Indonesia. Susenas data have been widely used by various groups, both at home and abroad. Therefore, the continuity of the availability and quality of Susenas data must be maintained and improved.
The National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) is the main basis for meeting the government's needs in implementing national development so that it is in line with international development goals (Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Susenas is collected by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) to provide portrait of development progress. The portrait must be accurate and can be trusted by the public at large. The March 2022 Susenas is one of the routine surveys of BPS which provides development data in the socio-economic sector at the national, provincial, and district/city levels.
In her speech, Nelli Yuliarsi said, “The Susenas Kor questionnaire covers various indicators, including those related to population, education, health, fertility and family planning, housing, information and communication technology, social protection, and food insecurity. Meanwhile, the Consumption and Expenditure Module is a source of data for two of the four national development targets, namely the calculation of the poverty level and the Gini index”.
Furthermore, Nelli Yuliarsi reminded again “The enumerator is the spearhead who plays an important role in conducting a survey. Because of the importance of the role of the enumerator, the enumerator must understand his duties and responsibilities, and when enumerating the sample households, both the enumerator and the field supervisor must comply with the Health protocol”.
