The above quotation is a fragment of the speech of the Head of the BPS Siak Regency when opening the training of National Labor Force Survey (SAKERNAS) officers in 2019 Semester. Official training was carried out routinely by BPS before going down to the field to do data collection. The training of the Sakernas officers in February was held on 28 January 31, 2019.

Sakernas is conducted twice a year, namely in February and August, in the entire territory of the Republic of Indonesia. In general, the purpose of data collection through Sakernas in February 2019 is to provide basic data on sustainable employment. Specifically, to obtain data on the number of working population, the number of unemployed, and other labor indicators and their development at the national, provincial and district / city levels.

In 2019, Sakernas refined the concept of employment status adopted from ICLS 20 and added questions to capture the digital economic phenomenon.
